Songs in Ink (11)

“Here on earth
Where the wind and the rain prevail
It bends what you build and it rusts what you nail”
(OP8, “Cracklin’ Water”)
OP8 was a one-album project by Howe Gelb, Lisa Germano, Joey Burns, and John Convertino in 1997.
The album – “Slush” – does not need many words to describe. It is very calm, quite melancholic, and it is almost heartrendingly beautiful. It contains, by the way, a fine cover version of Lee Hazlewood’s and Nancy Sinatra’s “Sand”.
